Controversial Magazine Cover
The New Yorker, a liberal magazine, published this controversial cartoon on its cover:
The New Yorker staff says the cover is satirical in nature, and makes fun of ridiculous right wing assertions about the Obamas. Even though it the cartoon is supposed to be a back-handed insult to conservatives, I imagine this print will become quite popular in some quarters. Surely the magazine staff must have anticipated the controversy this cartoon would create, as they have already sought to capitalize with prints available for purchase:
The New Yorker Store-Obama Cartoon
I have a sneaking suspicion some Hillary holdouts could responsible for this “blasphemy of the Obamessiah”. I’m glad to know free speech is still alive and well in this nation. However, I wonder how long it will be until the New Yorker staff is forced publicly repent for their non-PC sins. The good news … no cartoon riots in the streets of the U.S. just yet.
Both the Obama and McCain campaigns have condemned the cartoon as tasteless.
